Gaining weight after all the hard work to lose it can be extremely frustrating. It can be disheartening to watch the weight come back after all the time and effort spent fighting to get it off, especially for those that do not maintain a healthy lifestyle after reaching their goal.

Once you have placed your feet on that path for a healthy lifestyle, you should never turn back on that commitment. The healthy habits you used to lose the weight should remain a constant part of your life.

Remember to never skip your breakfast, this is the most important meal of the day. Your energy for the day is based on what you have to eat for your first meal, in other words breakfast shapes your day.

The National Institute of Environmental Health Services have found that people who do not skip their breakfast do not show the desire to snack as often as those who do.

Enjoy your food, chew slowly and thoroughly. Adopt the motto of “Slow but Sure”. You are more likely to overeat if you rapidly inhale your meal. It takes about twenty minutes for the brain to register that you have had enough to eat. Take a break before going for seconds.

Exercise regularly. Being active is essential to maintaining healthy weight. Enjoy your physical activities, chose things that will make you want to participate in them. Making exercise a chore will make you want to avoid it. Skip the long hours of TV watching, and abstain from playing computer games.

Keep your refrigerator full of healthy foods. Fruits and vegetables are always good low-fat snack options. This food group is packed with vitamins and minerals. Two cups of fruits and two to three cups of vegetables has also been shown to help you lose weight.
